Dear Patient,
We continue to employ advanced and routine dental safety procedures for your safety and the safety of our staff. It's important to us that you and your loved ones feel comfortable and confident while under our care. We are ready to take your safety to the next level.
We would like to share with you some of the measures we will be taking in addition to all of the regular precautions we always have taken.
At the beginning of each day, all team members (including the doctor) must have their temperature and health screening check. We ask our staff members to stay home if they suspect any sign of sickness until fully recovered.
1. Office disinfection
While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations. Infection control has always been a top priority for Dentistry by Design and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable.
2. Pre-appointment screening
First of all, for your and our safety, if you suspect you are sick (have fever, coughing, shortness of breath, sore throat), related or unrelated to Corona Virus, or have been in contact with anyone that might have been sick in the last 14 days we will ask you to postpone scheduling your appointment until you are fully recovered/cleared by your medical practitioner. At the time of the appointment and just before your appointment starts, we are going to ask you a few questions to ensure that your visit will be risk-free and comfortable.
3. Disinfection and cleanliness
We have touch-free hand sanitizer dispensers that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed. You may see that our waiting room - for the time being, no longer offers magazines, sign-in sheets, children’s toys, remote control, and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect. We will try our best to eliminate or decrease as much as possible the exchange of papers between you and our staff.
You will see some new equipment in the office, such as air filters throughout the office Our staff will use extra protective equipment (proper PPE), for their safety and yours.
You will also see cleaning and disinfecting of common areas such as doorknobs, counters, credit card terminals, etc after each patient. Disinfecting wipes will be available throughout the office for your convenience.
We look forward to seeing you and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. Please e-mail us at ionescudds@elkgrovedentistry if you have any questions. You are also welcome to call the office at 916 685-4662. Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors, and friends.
Sincerely,
Horia T. Ionescu DDS and DBD Team
